Annual Retreat

Every year in October Hyattsville Mennonite Church meets for its annual Church Retreat at Shepherd's Spring Retreat Center in Sharpsburg, Md. The weekend includes music, worship, relaxation, and fellowship. The retreat has a different theme each year, often with a guest speaker chosen by the Pastorate.

Our resource person is Dale Schrag, director of church relations and campus pastor at Bethel College. Schrag's background in history with particular emphasis on the 16th century Anabaptist movement combined with a gift for storytelling and a flair for the dramatic will be the highlight of our Saturday morning sessions. Even if you don't have the slightest interest in Anabaptist history, you will be fascinated and delighted by stories of Pilgrim Marpeck and others as he makes history come alive in our midst.
